Image of Notebook Computer Will Marshall's involvement in projects ranges from programming and database design, to managing and seeing software developments through a complete lifecycle. Listed below are some of the areas in which Will offers his services.

Databases

  • Competent in the design and use of relational databases, with understanding of essential key elements including normalisation, performance and security.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Access and Toad Data Modeler (CASE Studio 2) as design tools.
  • Competent with general SQL syntax with experience of use and administration of MySQL.

Programming / Web

  • Extensive experience of PHP programming for web use and with PHP Command Line Interface for performing Linux based tasks.
  • Good understanding of the importance of standard coding styles and documentation.
  • Familiar with the coding standards outlined by PEAR.
  • Some experience of ASP VB Script.
  • Experience of XHTML and CSS (table less) web design and layouts.
  • Understanding of web laws, standards and accessibility issues.

Linux / Hosting

  • Experience of installation, administration and maintenance of Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.
  • Experience of a number of Linux distributions including RedHat and Debian.
